Kids Helping Kids Day festivities begin at the end of the Hopebuilders 5K awards ceremony. More information and RSVP here.

NOTE: Dogs and other pets are not allowed at the Hopebuilders 5K.

Race festivities are being held at Lot B on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center, located at the corner of Medical Center Drive and Kings Drive ( GPS location: 1000 Blythe Boulevard).

Online (preferred method) through Wednesday, October 11 at 5:00pm (EST)

Register in-person at Run For Your Life - Midtown  (901 South Kings Drive) on Thursday, October 12 or Friday, October 13. CASH OR CHECK ONLY
 

Race Day Registration (October 14) is $35 for Adults and $20 for children. Begins 6:30 AM. CASH / CHECK / CREDIT

Mail registration and entry fee: Must be postmarked by Monday, October 9.

Run, walk, or stroll the 3.1 mile race course, which winds through the scenic Myers Park neighborhood and past Levine Children's Hospital.

The Start Line is located right outside of Lot B (on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center) between Brunswick Avenue and Ardsley Road. The race will begin by heading south on Kings Dr. and will continue until Kings Dr. becomes Queens Rd. W. before returning (near the intersection of Queens Rd. W. and Selwyn Avenue) by the same route.

Kids Helping Kids Day:

Help us celebrate the patients whose lives are touched by the world-class care Levine Children’s Hospital provides. In honor of Levine Children’s Hospital’s 10th anniversary, Levine Children's Hospital is hosting a fun filled Kids Helping Kids Day event following the Hopebuilders 5K. Kids Helping Kids Day will include arts, crafts, music and more for families to enjoy!

Under the Kids Helping Kids Day tent, participating children and adults will be able to create unique items like get-well cards, blankets, and personal handprint tiles to lift the spirits of our patients, as well as learn how to host their own fundraisers for Levine Children’s Hospital, and participate in a teddy bear clinic.

Pre-Registered Participants (Participants who have registered on/before Wednesday, October 5): If you registered online, by mail or in person on/before Wednesday, October 5 you may pick up your race number and t-shirt one of two ways:

At Run For Your Life - Midtown  (901 South Kings Drive) on Thursday, 10/12 and Friday, 10/13 during store hours: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.  (registration at Run for Your Life will take cash or check, no credit cards)

On-site at race registation on October 14, beginning at 6:30 a.m. (credit cards, cash, or check accepted)

Participants may registration day of for a fee of $35 for adults and $20 for kids.

Pre-registered runners (those who register on or before October 11) are guaranteed t-shirts.  Race-week and race-day registrants will be given t-shirts while supplies last.

Top Finisher Awards

Runner awards will be presented at the awards ceremony to the male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age category.  If you are a top finisher and cannot attend the awards ceremony, you may pick up your medal at Run For Your Life Dilworth for two weeks after the event. Top Finisher Award Age Categories for Hopebuilders 5K Run/Walk: Top Male Finisher and Top Female Finisher Ages 1-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-99.


Fundraising Award

The Top Fundraising Team will be awarded the Levine Children's Hospital Community Cup. Awards will also be given to individuals and teams who have raised $1000 or more.

The Young Ambassador Award will be given to the top fundraising individual under the age of 18.


Special Awards

Special awards will be given to the Best Decorated Stroller as well as the Most Creative Team Costumes and Most Creative Individual Costume.
